A native of Northern Kentucky, Thomas F. Goeke, Jr. grew up in Fort Mitchell and graduated from Covington Catholic High School in 1994. He earned academic and golf scholarships to Bellarmine University, where he earned the prestigious title of “Academic All-American” in 1997 and 1998. He also won the Northern Kentucky Amateur in both 1995 and 1996. After graduating with honors from Bellarmine, Tom pursued a career as a professional golfer for nearly two years. Although he won the 1999 South Dakota Open and enjoyed success as a professional golfer, Tom decided to change careers and pursue a law degree. He enrolled at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2000, and he obtained his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 2003. Tom was admitted to the practice of law in Kentucky in 2003. Tom and his wife reside in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Tom's law experience includes work in both the public and private sector. During law school, he worked extensively with the United States Department of Justice. His work with the United States Department of Justice included drafting briefs to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and responding to prisoners' habeas corpus petitions. He also worked in private practice before establishing his own firm in 2004. Having experience in both the public and private sectors is rare for an attorney, and it enables Tom to see all sides of an issue, which is a distinct advantage for him and his clients.
